About the host:

The association has the educational objective of promoting the development of the individual with all her / his talents, the organization wants to create a framework within which children, young people and adults develop their talents in technology, science and languages. The association offers access to tools that people do not have at home and to lesser-known materials and techniques. The goal is always to stimulate creativity, interest, growth mindset and entrepreneurship, with attention for equal opportunities. The activities of De Creative STEM cover a broad spectrum of technologies and techniques and are characterized by their quality and professional pedagogical approach aimed at training the so-called 21st century skills and STEM talents. The approach is aimed at inviting and helping participants to step out their comfort zone by stimulating them with achievable challenges so that they train as much as possible to get into their stretch zone and grow. Alarm signals (panic zone) are monitored individually so that each individual is helped back to the comfort zone.

About the event:

In 2019 we held the Designaton for the first time in our FabLab in Drongen. There were 9 participants thinking about and creating solutions for problems like food waste and climate change.

Changing life

This team thought about a different way of living. Separating the animals from the people to keep the animals safe. They also changed the school system, you start on the lowest level of the building and move up as you get older.

Water filtering system

This team developed a water filtering system with different filters that will collect dirt and garbage, ranging from big to small particles. Marine life will also be deflected so that no harm comes to them.

City 2.0

The team developed a new version of a city, one that is more in balance with nature, using natural resources like rain. They want to collect as much as possible of e.g. rain on waisted locations.
